Partner With Us

We collaborate with public libraries, school boards, and content providers to grow our network.

The Digital Human Library connects students and educators with real people who bring curriculum topics to life through shared stories and expertise. By bridging classrooms with knowledgeable volunteers from diverse fields, the library transforms traditional learning into an interactive, relational experience. These virtual conversations help young learners build meaningful connections while exploring subjects like science, history, the arts, and community leadership. Teachers use these encounters to spark curiosity and deepen understanding, turning abstract concepts into memorable human moments. Every interaction is designed to support K‑12 education by fostering empathy, critical thinking, and a broader worldview, all within a safe and streamable digital environment.

Our network includes a wide range of experts, professionals, and community members who volunteer their time to speak with classrooms across Canada and around the world. Whether through a scheduled virtual chat or a themed program aligned with classroom learning goals, each session is crafted to be age-appropriate and curriculum-relevant. Educators can explore available themes and select speakers whose experiences match their students’ interests and learning outcomes. This flexible model supports both one-time visits and ongoing mentoring relationships, making it easy for teachers to integrate experiential learning into their regular lesson plans without added complexity or cost to their schools.

The foundation behind this initiative is a registered nonprofit organization driven by a mission to make experiential education accessible and impactful. Through partnerships with school boards, educational organizations, and community groups, the library continues to expand its reach and refine its offerings. Volunteer positions, internships, and alternative field placements provide opportunities for individuals to contribute to this growing network. Support from educators and donors ensures that programs remain free or low-cost for participating classrooms, removing financial barriers and allowing students from all backgrounds to benefit from direct human connections that enrich their learning journey.

Collaboration lies at the heart of everything the Digital Human Library does. Teachers, librarians, and administrators are encouraged to reach out and share their ideas for new programs or speaker topics that would benefit their students. The organization actively seeks feedback from the educational community to keep its content fresh, relevant, and responsive to classroom needs. Whether someone wants to volunteer as a guest speaker, propose a partnership, or simply learn more about bringing these experiences to their school, the team welcomes conversations that help strengthen the bridge between education and lived experience. Together, these efforts build a global community of connected learners.
